The Invergarry Hotel is based at the historic home of the Ancient Clan Macdonnell. It is 85 km from Inverness. Inverness is near two battle sites: the 11th-century battle of Blà r nam Fèinne and the 18th-century Battle of Culloden. Loch Ness, with reported sightings of the Loch Ness Monster ("Nessie"), is nearby. The village of Fort Augustus is at the Southern Tip of Loch Ness. Plockton, a small harbor village on the West Coast, offers views. Glenfinnan is in the Lochaber area of the Highlands. The glen begins in the mountains of Kintail.
